Triptyque “Ecorces” imaginé pour le Cent 33, restaurant du chef Fabien Beaufour.
Au début de l’année le chef Fabien Beaufour m’a contacté pour me parler d’un projet, une envie d’intégrer des oeuvres artistiques dans son restaurant. Suite à nos échanges sur sa cuisine, sa philosophie de vie et son restaurant, j’ai eu envie de réaliser une oeuvre sur mesure, combinant nos deux univers. Après un temps de recherche, j’ai proposé un triptyque autour du thème de l’écorces.
L’oeuvre est composée de trois tableaux qui se complètent et forment un ensemble. Les différents motifs sont inspirés du vaste répertoire des textures que nous offrent les arbres. Cette oeuvre invite à prendre le temps, à se plonger dans les reliefs et motifs de la nature qui nous entoure. A redécouvrir sa beauté, simple, brute et à la respecter.
Je souhaitais que les pièces s’intègrent dans cet univers comme un ingrédient visuel qui vient fusionner avec le restaurant. Pour cela j’ai choisi le ton doux et chaleureux de la couleur sable pour s’harmoniser avec l’atmosphère du restaurant. Ma volonté était de participer à cette belle expérience culinaire, venir la compléter et non la déranger. Comme ci les oeuvres avaient été pensées pour le lieu dès la création et non comme des pièces rapportées.
Chaque pièce est intégralement faite main à Bordeaux dans mon atelier.

At the beginning of the year, chef Fabien Beaufour contacted me to tell me about a project, a desire to integrate artistic works into his restaurant. Following our discussions on his cuisine, his philosophy of life and his restaurant, I wanted to create a tailor-made work, combining our two worlds. After a time of research, I proposed a triptych around the theme of bark.
The work is made up of three paintings that complement each other and form a whole. The different patterns are inspired by the vast repertoire of textures that trees offer us. This work invites you to take your time, to immerse yourself in the reliefs and patterns of the nature that surrounds us. To rediscover its beauty, simple, raw and to respect it.
I wanted the pieces to fit into this universe as a visual ingredient that merges with the restaurant. For this I chose the soft and warm tone of the sand color to harmonize with the atmosphere of the restaurant. My desire was to participate in this beautiful culinary experience, to complement it and not disturb it. As if the works had been thought for the place from the creation and not as added pieces.
Each piece is entirely handmade in Bordeaux in my workshop.
